With a unique style all her own, Aziza Eckart is a unique talent in the Ottawa music scene. Her distinctive voice gives a cutting edge to her powerful lyrics. Her music can express the stinging pain of heartbreak in a way that leaves the listener understanding that she may be down but not out. Often playing solo with a slow guitar accompaniment Aziza can be found at the various open mike sessions in Ottawa.

Aziza is well rounded artist and can express her talents in acting as well. She has taken on various roles in in several locally produced short films.
Our initial recording session was at an old abandoned railway bridge that crosses the Gatineau River but it was right during the Ottawa’s Bluesfest and the music would drift across the water and interfere without our recording. Nevertheless we got some excellent photos at that location.
For the musical recording we decided to shoot in an an empty lounge area in Ottawa’s Arts Court. The railway footage came in handy and we was it in a music interpretation of one of her most haunting songs “On the Tracks”.
Although influenced by other female songwriters like Lana del Rey , Aziza is still truly a free spirit and someone who lives life on her own terms. Her music and creative expressions speak to someone who can look forward to a strong and exciting career in whatever endeavour she decides to pursue.
